Often when people want to buy discus at better price, they will ask for discount and mentioned they are "newbie" or they are "student".
As and when, we will sell away our fishes due to many reasons. Would you buy those "newbie" and "student" story and sell them lower price? The purpose of this thread is to let "newbie" and "student" know how seller react on their proclaimed.

Frankly speaking, I myself don't buy that simply because the price for discus already very attractive and affortable compare to 5-10 years ago.
If you are newbie and student, why don't you work within your mean? Discus like any others consumer product;they have their price category. You alway can get those cheaper breed, such as pigeon, turq or blue diamond, why must break your bank to get those branded?
I did sold away some of my fishes at give away price to some real newbie, which really have some financial problem. I sold those fishes simply because they are friend's friend of mine. I still think that "work within your mean" and "stand with your own foot". This is a hobby, no point make it become your burden.

I think we are all students at one point...
When i was a student...i also broke my bank many times and even take a loan from my mum to buy some discus. I guess guys wouldn't heisitate to go all the way just to feed their wants.
The only think that i dun like is that some ppl pretend to be poor....get some freebies and to sell it off for a profit . Those ppl ought to be shot!!

when i was a student i only catch fishes from lokang with my sis where got money to buy fishes :)
i believe too that we should spend within your own means, well i always careful with my money so i buy things base on value for money that is why i buy so many things from forummers
i will only give discount only i feel that person really needs it, once i even deliver a free tank to a student in Sengkang

I never break my bank to buy fishes. Even as student, I already save and buy the fishes with my own pocket money. Till date, i still the same, i like a certain breed, i will ask the price and i will save money to buy.

Have sold/ given some discus to newbie, student before
and these are a few things I have seen
I) They keep asking for more if their discus died
(dont know true or not, but Bai and I do know one who collect from others more then 100 in a few months):surprise: :surprise:
II) Want to give away pigeon blood they ask for full spotted
(I might as well keep the pigeon blood)
III) Sell them $20 discus ask for more then $40 free gifts
(do I work in a market?)
IV) Sell them cheap only to find out that they resell the discus at much higher profit
These days I just tell them discus is a serious hobby that take lot of time, if dont have the finance and time, dont even start:crying: :crying:
