Dr.Sun, at age 58, believe is the only Doctor in Singapore with unique surename - Sun. He also the only Doctor who keep discus as hobby.

Being a doctor for nearly 30 years, he own a clinic at Clementi West St 2, Block 722 for 26 years. During this 26 years, the second floor of his clinic become his discus breeding place.

Since young, Dr Sun already like to keep fish. During his interview with the reporter, he mentioned that he initially keep various type of fishes, but discus still his favourite, at the end, he concentrate on just keeping discus.

He renovated 2 rooms on the second floor of his clinic become breeding place of his discus. There are about 25 big/small tanks with 300/400 discus in that rooms.

He mentioned, his fishes is not the most expensive type of discus, but overall should cost him about $20,000-$30,000 thousand. One of the pair, which is his favourite, worth about $2,000 each. This pair fetch a high price not because is the most beautiful fish, but because this pair could produce very nice offspring. He also have some other type of discus at affortable price, ranging from few dollars to $50/$60.

With his years of experience, he is now not only the expert in judging discus, he is also creator of new strain of discus. having his family's support, he putting up his every effort in promoting keeping discus as hobby in Singapore. He also very active in conducting seminar, to share his experience with others. He hope more discus hobbyist can enjoy this hobby.

He plan to be a full time discus breeder when he retired from his current job. If time allow, he plan to write a book to share his experience with more people.

Hi Guys,
Just saw this post and the translation and am really shocked! I knew there was a write up in the Chinese paper, but not knowing how to read Chinese, didn't bother much about the details. The Wan Bao news was really misleading. :embarrassed:
First, I am definitely NOT the only doctor who keep discus! I don't know where the reporter got this fact! Secondly, I really sounded arrogant! I don't think that I had ever claimed to be an expert in everything ....like judging, creating new strains, setting up tanks in farms etc etc
So guys, please read this article with a pinch of salt! I don't know where the reporter got all this juicy ideas:confused_1:
Hope you guys understand.
Regards
Dr Sun

They are common to add salt and pepper to make the dish looks more interesting, so many people will read the news :geeked:

Great to see you here, Dr Sun. I believe the fault not lie on you. Reporter tend to add in what they think and believe which make the report misleading.
