Hiya all,

I will be getting an aro soon (not the high grade one lah - just maybe a normal RTG or 1.5 red for a beginner like me)

Just wondering does the background REALLY makes a difference to enhance the colouration of the aro? (like blue for gold, black for reds)

I plan to use back my old background (normal one with plants) cause if it makes a diffenerance then I need to change it before running the water.

Whats the opinion of u seasoned aro keeper?

Thanks in advance.

As far as i know, use white background to improve the coloration of rtg and xback, use black background for the red one.

Background does mke a diff in bringing out the colouration contrast of the Aro...:)

Ultimately, gene is the mst impt part of the Aros...But background does play a part...:)

I always believe black oyama tank will bring out the true colour of a Red and XB. Some bros prefer blue....

Agree with this. Basically, choice of background is important to contrast with the color of the arowana. The background MUST highlight the color of the arowana.

Most hobbyist will put their red arowana in a black background and golden arowana to a blue background.

Although, bottomline genes plays the most important part in the coloration of arowana  My personal opinion

Bro i will advise you to change your background to those of Oyama Type. If it is a RTG that you are getting, you can use either black or blue (dark or light). with Oyama it makes aro photography easier.

Personally I prefer Black Tank to House All my Aros. It find that by using black tank.... The Colour intensity of the Aro is more obvious.

Just one more addtional thing to note is that....

White tank is only good for RTGs and XB (supposely to push up the shine of the gold)..... Please never ever put a red inside a white tank.... cos no matter how red ur aro can be.... will be faded as times fly....
