You people really knows how to make members drool and green with envy. I am one of them, how nice to have a pond to keep monster fish. especially more desirable if its half concrete half mud pond. It shd stimulate breeding..
Put in dry leaves, protection net above prevent herons from stealing your precious collection, smell of mud.. just how nice

BTW, I used to keep spotted gars but unsuccessful.

The reason is that they start to developed a "bow" curved body when they reach about 1 feet.

Waited for a while, still doesnt go back to its original shape. Many LFS says mayb due to water quality.

Bros, your comments pls.

I've kept spotted gar before and never encounter this problem before but have seen occasionally in lfs having curve body. Do you think its due to broken bones due to mishandling like drop on the floor?

ermm..i m not a GURU on gars..

but when i 1st bought from LFS, i will alwiz choose those with stragith body type..

then once in the pond or tank, i only feed them, never catch them or wat liaoz..

changing water just remove the pipe, water will flow out...

:)

my 2 cents.
