Water "clean" in naked eyes but not "clean" as in the water quality.

If the bioload not too high and are adult fish, you can afford to wc alternate day. Running water piping systems also help in reducing the works and save some time.

Dats not wat i mean, u may wc once a week since an aro and IT coz my water bioload too high.
Not as in today, only twice a week coz i manage to minimise my rays
1 18" aro, 2 16" ST, 1 24" tigirinus and 4 rays in 5ft tank

Guess wc is not necessary when the system is coping well (healthy bio-filtration) I've not been doing wc for my 522 tank wif a 522 sump, housing a pair of Sakura for almost a year.
Just to share. Every wk siphoning out dirt wif app. 20litre of water and do an equavilent replacement (water conditioner cum anti Chlorine/Chloramine) Rays are coping well, it out growth the tank and i'm looking forward to transfer them into a FGT
Tank set up: Top tank 522 c/w over cum under flow
Flow rate app. 4800~5200lt/hr 30% water via UVc together return main tank.
Sump media: bio-balls, J-matt and plants.
PH: 6~6.8 (PH buffer wif soduim bi-carbonate 1~2 time a week)
ORP: 320~380.
Feed: MP or Sotongz.
