hello,

normally the instructions do not come complete. But most of us will asume its best to be taken as 3 days of medication. On the 3rd day of medication, ensure you do 30% of water change and observe any improvements of curing.

Repeat the same medication procedure should the fish still remain sick as sometimes it takes 1-2 weeks to repeat a 3 day medication cycle for the fish to cure completely.

Hope your fishes have a speedie recovery.:geeked:

Medication type and uses
Antibiotic Tablets. Active constituent: Tetracycline HCl

Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat common bacterial infections, including more severe and aggressive cases of fin rot, flexibacter (columnaris), bacterial gill disease ("gill rot"), bacterial ulcers and systemic infections.

Dosage and treatment regimes
Dose 1 tablet to 20 litres of aquarium water.Tablets should be ground to powder and dissolved in a cup of tank water before adding to the tank. Re-treat daily for 3 to 5 days or until 1 day after symptoms have disappeared, with a 25% water change before each re-treatment. NB. Some brands of tetracycline recommend re-dosing at the rate of 1 tablet per 100L of water. See the product label for specific directions.

Do a partial water change before treatment. Remove activated carbon from filters before commencing treatment, as the carbon can remove the drug from the water, reducing the effectiveness of the medication. Aerate the water during treatment, and change water after treatment is finished.

Notes
Tetracycline is light-sensitive and will turn the tank water brown, affecting water quality. It may also produce a yellowish frothy scum on the water surface. Several bacteria are resistant to tetracycline, but it remains an effective treatment for many common bacterial diseases. Tetracycline binds to calcium and magnesium, and is consequently less effective in hard alkaline water.
