i guess u r right as a point of seeing it as a singaporean, but i too also brought my aunties n their boys to Sentosa...................they all went to the Nature Walk/Dragon Trail and stop by the summit of Mount Imbiah for a scenic view of the neighbouring islands. the kids mostly love the Part go-cart, part-toboggan car rides , Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon, Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom.

for me the tickets were a bomb, but guess they r on holiday............then they wanted to see Fort Siloso that was served as the last bastion of the British forces during the Japanese invasion of Singapore. kids now days do not know wht was war like at all.............then they all visited the Carlsberg Sky Tower which takes up to 72 people in its cosy, air-conditioned cabin for a seven-minute ride $8 per person.

at night, they all saw Musical Fountain - Dance of Fire and Water Show offers a spectacular light and sound experience after dark. The latest laser technology is combined with motion pictures and 3-D animated images, choreographed to a ballet of dancing water fountains, multi-sensory music and lights.

To me , was seen that n done that but i guess tagging along even u know whts its like, seeing a smile at the end of the day on the kids makes u wish u were that young once b4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p :p :p :p :p :p

I guess you are partially correct, IR will have their own attractions, Sentosa will have to improve in order to attract them to go there

well with the competition for tourist dollars grows, they will need to improve

may be sentosa is just too small for any mega project... may be they should combine a few more islands nearby

think they r trying their best to improve sentosa, look at the Tang Dynasty village n har par, both were a flop.......Tang Dynasty Village and Volcano Land on Sentosa are now history. And so is the Asian Village, which at best piqued the curiosity of the geography or history student desperate for replicas of what they study in textbooks.

More encouraging was Fantasy Island, also on Sentosa, which was a hit with friends out seeking exciting and thrilling water rides. Unfortunately, that too did not survive - shut down after one drowning and other accidents!!!!!

It's a good idea but Singaporean like to gamble too much. So...... if it is build. Everyone will be spenting their weekend gambling.

More loanshark. More secret society. More crime rate and more bankcrupt. more sueing too...................;(

A new multi-million dollar laser and light show is being built at Sentosa.

Mr Yves Pepin is the inspiration behind the project.

The man bringing the new Sentosa spectacle to Singapore is the same person responsible for ushering in the new millennium to the French capital.

Yves Pepin, President, ECA2, said: "This show will put together a lot of technologies and will combine a lot of means of expression together. The water, the fire, the explosions, the marvellous lights coming from the village and from everywhere - all that will be combined to make something unique."

It will all happen on the white sands of Siloso beach.

S$31 million is being pumped into the entertainment site and construction started three months ago.

The audience will sit down there on the planned amphitheatre to watch the show.

The attraction will include jets of water, bursts of fire and a laser show; it will be based out there when finished in April next year.

But new technology is not the only element in the design.

Singapore's history will play a part too.

Gurjit Singh, Property Director, Sentosa Leisure Group, said: "I think creating a storyline for this new show came from the history of Sentosa. We are recreating a kelong like atmosphere, in an abstract form, telling the story to bring people here and I think that is different and that is unique."

And when it opens, the creators hope to fill the 3,000-seat amphitheatre for the twice nightly show.

Prices for tickets have yet to be decided. - CNA/ch
