Can a member help confirm my Tiger species? From your identification thread I presume it is an IT; but not sure.

Also, need clarification in regards to recommended water parameter for this species. Specifically, if salt should be regular aquarium salt or marine salt mix and how much to add (tablespoons per gallon or to what specific gravity)? Currently using marine salt mix (about 2 TBS per 5 gal.) but this appears not correct dose since my Tiger is unstable and rarely shows the light coloration in the pic. Normally he is darker, specially the bottom half.

Tony is around 4 in. and just moved him to a 75 gal (pH = 7.4, temp is 82F). Can't place any fishes in tank, he does not tolerate any company and will attack fish twice his size. Thank you!

Bro, this is IT....as you can see the strips ar 4 lines.
For IT, some ar always darker and will become unstable especially comm with the rest in the same tank. When they wan to attack the rest, then they will be more stable. As for the salt, i will only put in when necessary if they appear sick. Maybe you had just shifted him, that's why he is unstable...give him some time to adopt.

IT. To ident the tiger is not looking at the strips, look at the marking from the tail

Thanks for comments, so it's an IT, cool. Will do small water changes over next few weeks with no marine salt in water and see how he likes it.

Nope, that is the blue background seen through the tail. I do not have this piece anymore. Could never get stable (IT very shy and timid); so let it go to another hobbist, maybe he has better luck.

Plan to convert 75 gal. to saltwater and house one of the smaller Triggerfish.
