Hello everyone,
I just joined this forum and I am wondering if anyone could give me some information and advice about my flowerhorn.
My FH is 2 years old and in a 60 gal tank. Sometime in April, I noticed that his left eye is swollen and gets bigger. So, we did a 25% water change after testing the ph, ammonia and nitrate contents. We observed FH for a few days and no change in the eye.So, we tried Maracyn-two medication and followed the regimen. FH seemed active on the course of the treatment but little change in the swollen eye.
1month after the initial medication, the eye lookes extremely swollen again. Fh was not fully cured with the Maracyn treatment so we tried the triple sulfa as per package directions. But the swollen eye was not cured.
Just 2 days ago, it happened again. Left eye became really big and looked like it could pop out its socket.
And today, I noticed that there is some sort of an inflammation with what I thought is pus inside because there is some sort of yellowish thing inside that bulge on the membrane around the Fh socket. Aside from the fact that the swollen eye is getting cloudy inside and Im afraid that it could make my FH blind or really sick.
I dont know what to do or what medication to give because my first two attempts to medicate didnt cure the pop eye.
Pls help.... Your advice and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

raise temp to 31C everyday to let pus disolve internally. turn off over head flow and provide aeration. use pop eye medication by waterlife. it takes 2-3 mths to cure.

Thank you aquatic planet for your advice. I did raise the temperature and I am glad that the pus is dissolving. FH still has the pop eye and continuing the course of my antibiotic treatment. Is it advisable to keep the tank in that temp until the pop eye is cured?
I would like to try the Waterlife treatment and did some research and learned that you can order it from Great Britain. My question is, do you know if they sell it here in the United States? Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you again...

yes, keep temp 31C til cured. Apply med til cured. ie do 20% WC after 3-5 days of med. Do it til eye fully cured. Some can take 2wks , some can take 1 mth and some can take 2-3 mths to cure. Not sure waterlife sold in US. I check n let u knw soon.

Thank you again for your advice. I did some research and fortunately found some pet stores carrying that product. I will definitely try that. Thank you again.
