bros, here're a summary of the incentives which i gathered from last night's rally:

a) six days of child-care leave a year to either parent
b) one-week unpaid infant care leave per year, until the child turns two
c) maternity leave extended to 16 weeks, with the additional four weeks paid for by government
d) Monetary incentives, such as improved baby bonus for first-time parents and more tax incentives.

i dont understand the one-week unpaid infant care leave. even without this, sometimes if we run out of paid leave, we also song song just take unpaid leave mah. our bosses happier to give unpaid leave, can save money.

strangely, nothing said on paternity leave. i guess that's included in the 6-day child-care leave??

donno when these incentives will take effect, heard the PM say Wong Kan Seng will be in charge of releasing more details by the end of this week. hopefully will be effective with immediate effect, my first kid coming out end of this month!!

now i'm keeping 2 small carps for the time being, trying to get the 2 to generate sufficient shit for the nitro-cycle. will add on 2 more maybe in 2 weeks' time. think i'll heed bro mystique's advice and limit the number to maximum 5. last time i had more than 10 carps inside, very difficult to maintain clear and good-condition water. then once ick infection started in, all infected and wiped out very fast. :sad:

here a lot of bros keeping flowerhorns, i think bro mystique also. i donno many bros here lah, only know bros mystique and poseidon. have been learning and seeking advice from bro mystique, as i'm still quite inexperienced in keeping fishes.

actually I must thank my wonderful OC.... she is the one from birth till they are big now. From their overall well being, and education, she handles them by herself. I am only responsible to play with the kids. :big_smile:

Ah, a good dad spends time to play with his kids. At least the kids have fond memories with dad.

So did u teach them to do WC for your flowerhorns? It helps to let them understand pets as well. :big_smile:

didn't know the govt top-up CDA account not applicable to first baby. the banks (OCBC & Stanchart) both said they are waiting for the legislation to be amended first in Oct then they'll implement for the first baby. so i can only open the CDA account after Oct... :(
