Need to find a good camera. Any recommendations on brand/specs/place of buy?

Not to high end ones, prefer moderate-abit high end ones.:D

1) What type of shots do u want this camera to take? Outdoor? Indoor? Micro is important for taking close-up shots?
2) Resolution? 5, 6. 7 or 8 Megapixels?
3) Card storage, SD, XD, Memory sticks, Mini SD etc??
4) Optical zoom, how many times? 3x. 4x ......
5) Compact camera or accept slight bulkiness?

At that price you can get quite a good point and shoot compact camera like

got some preference. I find panasonic not egineered into cameras. Perhaps panasonic is more of hifi, tv, etc.:)

bro mystique, get a good SLR lah! cost a bit more but worth the money, especially under dim lighting and the fish keeps on moving, normal camera hard to take lah, will come out blur. i'm using a canon digital SLR, and it's so far so good for me! have been able to take good pics! :)

hey bro, i bought mine a few years ago, so mine was 300D. but about the same lah, i bring mine to wherever i go. it takes good pics. :)

Canon 300D and 350D are good cameras. The only difference is 300D is 6MB and 350D is 8MB. I have used both but I find 350D is faster :) most probably the software :)

yup, can try MS color at AMK. they give quite good price, but not much goodies. i got mine from Courts, although slightly more expensive, i get more goodies and longer warranty. :p

i paid for one more year of warranty, can't remember how much more, but ok lah. i get bag, extra battery, 1GB card, small tripod for goodies. :)

Yes it is a good buy. I got it at $1999. You can now also buy the Macro Len and Flashes and etc ...... at very good price.

However, those picture taken with a 50mm Micro len. Lots to learn from this camera. It does wonders.

There are many other choice from Nikon, Canon and Sony Digital Cam. They are as good. But I find Olympus is a better choice in terms color capture and it is working on a Fourth-Third system. If you like micro shot this is a good choice cam.

Don't missed this promotion at $1799. It was really a good buy. Tomorrow Sunday is the last day. Anyway, Sony, Nikon, Canon and etc are there. Go and see and compare the price and future.
