hi bros just collected my L-H last saturday,um.....but today still hidding behind the pump...anything wrong with it???And spotted 2 tiny dots on one side of the fin what should i do:sad:

bro thanks..how many degree should i put & my tank now is only 2 feet & will be changing to a 3.5 feet this week end..afetr that should i continue to put the heater??

Maybe u try to put on 28degree and yes, continue to put in the heater when u change to another tank.....besides, u could just put in a small size parrot for yr LH to play with and take the parrot out after a few hrs....i think u should see result then.:big_smile:

thanks bro!!i already put in a silver dollar in it,um...never took it out from last night until now...so you mean that the fish need heater or should i take the heater out once its stable? and bt the way is it neccessary to put the solution to increase the PH level of the water??

Heater is necessary when fish feel sick, but since yr fish scare, just leave the heater there for couple of days and see his improvement then. Ok, if u put in the silver dollar last nite, then u should see him dancing already. Well, once he is stabilised u could just take the tankmate out. Cheer!!!:wink:

congrats on yr new LH purchase! as wat bro Merz said, put in heater 100watts is okay for the 2ft tank bro. switch to 28-30 degrees..pls do check the water on & off to make sure yr heater is accurate & water nt too hot for the fish yah...as he is lonely & scared in the new environment, putting a parrot fish ( yr silver dollar oso can try) will help stablize him.... if more spots continue to appear, pls add some salt & melaxfix/pimafix into tank. normally heaters are nt required unless fish is sick but as the year end weather is rather cold, can use lah...Cheers & pls do post yr fish to share share in the main flowerhorn forum k :wink:

hi hope you find this little forum relax place for you!
as for yr fish depend where the tank is place
if similar to where he's from it will be stable fast
but if very different it may take up to two week
as merz and et wrote parrot is good
but once stable better to remove or place a partition
prevent flowerhorn attacking and kill the parrot
just give a little food for it to eat if can't finish do remove them so to keep the water clean not just clear
do feel free to contact anyone here by PM or posting a Q here

hi bro thanks for the concern...um.....it still won't eat though..but when i reach home i already saw it swimming around,but when i approach it turn black and hide behind the pump..think still not stable n doesn't wanne eat,um.. n i bought the Octine for the spot already put it in yesterday n today already 1 or 2 spot dissapear already..um..my fish will be strees i surppose cos this weekend i'll change it to the 3.5ft tank liao,,bro thanks ya,sorry i can't remember yr names cos too many of you already hope to know everyone well soon..

Kok shrinking is normal if the fish is stress or feeling unwell, pH of the water also plays a part in the kok developement. To high pH is also not so good for the fish. Try to focus on getting the fish back to health first, then work on getting it back to top form, yours is a nice fish, hope it will get well soon enough, then you'll see it's full potential. :wink: :big_smile:
