View Full Version : How long will you replace your filteration media??

Just a survey, heard alots of comment regarding of this. Some said 6 mths, some said 1 yr and some even said never. So which is which, hope to hear from you guys :)

using biohome, biohouse and ceramic rings and bioballs/cubes, volcanic rock, so far they are doing their job well, see no reason in replacing

I only add up but not replacing my biohome and CR in my filtration system

Well, actually my style same as bro Troy, i only do adding instead of replacing.

i think most ppl do the same way especially for biohome, it is so expensive, how to replace......... in fact the older the better like red wine :D

unless those media is totally disintegrated then will throw it away, from time to time will take it out and rinse it with tank water, however try to schedule the cleaning and not to clean all at one go

I go for never too.... I believe the older it is, the better it will become.... :)
