I bought a golden arowana (6") last Sunday from a farm which was kept in white fiber tank. The fish looks healthy in my glass 5ft tank but did not eat till today. I'm feeding with market prawn. Please advice.

Is it normal for the lost of appetite due to stress when there is a change of environment?

Yes, most of the aro will lose appetite or not eating at all initially.....Be patient,bro... their appetite will be back to norm soon.:grin smile:

Thanks for the feedback. I'm just worried that it may starve to death.

Just ensure, good water management to make sure aro is in good health...at times if aro is stress, ill do some water change say 20% to let the aro have some fresh clean water to make it less stress and more adaptable to environment..

hope it helps.:yeah wink:

also, any food not eaten, pls scope it out so as not to contaminate the water..

No worries bro, aro can starve for weeks or mths without food.
Like what bro mystique mentioned, ensure clean water by changing 10 to 20% water only every week. :clap cheers: :clap cheers:

Good to hear that....perhaps just continue but not overfeeding as yr aro will only increase his appetite in time.:grin smile:
