When I was younger, I have always love to keep orandas and followed at a distance by crown-pearl. The fight have always been between these two varieties. Over the years, I have tried my hands at TVR as a personal challenge and over the years I have found that I still prefer to keep oranda very much more than ranchus. I have also tried my hands at some other varieties with very little satisfaction. Keeping and breeding orandas has given me the most satisfaction in this goldfish keeping hobby. As a tribute to my experience in years gone by, I will show some of the crown-pearlscale that have once filled my passion for goldfish.

Every once in a while whenever I see a beautiful crown-pearl, TVR, SVR or even the bubble-eye, they will set my heart pumping at an exorbitant rate, just like a married man seeing another beautiful lady. I have been faithful to my oranda and will continue with them for the moment even though the temptation to commit "goldfish adultery" is always there when the opportunity arises.

These are some of the crown-pearlscales from my bygone era.
