Any ideas from bros here, how to reduce/avoid the black spots of discus ?

I think you meant black specks or peppering which show only on pigeon genes discus. It's like "stress bar" for those 9/14 bars fish. Once the fish stress or uncomfortable, the fish will display more specks.

In order to reduce the black specs, good water quality and bright background certainly help. However, the most important thing is to choose a very clean pigeon fish. Take red melon for exmaple, there are actually many advanced species (Selective breeding by breeder), which do not show or minimal black specs even stressed.

use white background and overhead light. Pigeon based discus tend to show black spotting esp when they are in a planted tank or darker background.

Another interesting study by Chan Ming from Hong Kong is that during the baby stage, a strong white light is turn on 24 hours. This will get rid or greatly reduce the amount of black specks in the fishes. However according to him, too much of this treatment will render the fish to reduce in their other colours also. This article can be found in the book Asian Discus.

Personally i have not try out this method as melons and pigeons nowadays are usually very clean.

sometimes fish scared and they drop scales the part where they drop the scales might develop a black dot also.

Depends on what strain of discus u keeping

how abt some pic of the black spots?
kinda blur as not sure if u are referring to black specks
on a pigeon.
